Freedom...now?

The question of freedom has alluded the general public these days, whether it's freedom of the press to report the illegal transactions of CIA intelligence officers, the freedom for workers to come across borders into other countries, or freedom to have a piece of bread in Haiti.
That's why I like this album. Max Roach gets his Art Blakey on, and finds himself with a dark and intense mood intended to question the ills of 1960 through shrieks, bangs, and wails.
We Insist! is nice with it. Michael Olatunji on percussion is the perfect compliment to Roach and his rhythm section.
